Phew!
Crazy days since we last spoke to you on the blog, and they ain't quite over yet - still recovering from Nollaig na mBan ['Women's Christmas'], an 'adventure' (!) that, as always, myself, the Girl Gang and all female family members freely undertake (in the name of tradition!), leaving our menfolk to look after the houses, shopping, children, grandchildren etc etc as we young wans run wild for what always turns out to be more than just that one day!
And, considering that we hadn't really fully recovered from the Christmas and New Year shenanigans before us girls attempted to assemble in something akin to an orderly fashion for our Nollaig na mBan get-together and the fact that we have three birthdays to mark and celebrate in January alone as well as the presents that have to be returned for whatever reasons to car-park-less shopping centres, I'm doing well to find the time to write and post this little message, never mind trying to
But we're working on it, and will be publishing our first proper blog post here on Wednesday, 18th January 2023 ; it will be at least a six-parter and will include a few paragraphs on an Irishman who considered himself to be a go-between - a middle man, if you like - between Westminster and the Irish rebels, but who found out the hard way that the British have no permanent friends, only permanent interests.
We'll also be writing about a street protest in Dublin by the unemployed during the early days of the Free State-organised counter revolution when, despite been kept busy by the Irish republican struggle to maintain the Republic, the Staters still found time to 'deal with' what they no doubt considered to be 'uppity' citizens, and we'll have a few words to say about an 'ordinary Joe' who challenged the blatant gerrymandering in the occupied six counties.
We'll have more than the above to say, but we won't be saying it until Wednesday, 18th January 2023 ; sure give us a look-see then and have a gander and a read!
