IRELAND 1923 - DELAYING TACTIC WELCOMED BY BOTH SIDES.
On Wednesday, 15th November 2023, we'll be putting up a five-piece post which - magically! - will turn into a seven-parter right in front of your lil' curious eyes...!
Among the pieces we'll be writing about are the following -
"Vengeance may be slow, but it’s sure...not a tooth for a tooth, but 50 to 1.." - a warning published by a pro-British armed gang in Ireland in the 1920's...
From 1955 - "There will be many whom history will judge harshly for their sin of omission..."
From 2002 - A few years ago, reliance on therapists and pills would have been regarded by Irish people as among the worst kind of excesses typifying American society ; now we have abandoned any sense that it is normal to feel negative emotions...
From 1998 - 'Irish republicanism has outlasted the British Empire, thanks to determined people like Pearse. Ireland was Britain's first colonial possession to challenge its power this century and, since then, Britain has constantly retreated...' (if so, it's due to the fact that the 'soup-takers' are doing the job for her.)
From 1922 - this man was involved in the financing of the Republican Movement but the Staters eventually got to him ; he spent a few years in State exile before, unfortunately, throwing his lot in with the same people that had exiled him...
Thanks for the visit, and for reading : hope to see ye back here on Wednesday, 15th November 2023!
