THE BRITISH 'DORA' IN IRELAND.
...and we're back, after our 'working holiday'!
We had an eventful break (!), and enjoyed the two gigs laid on by the Movement, during and after the working days, but would ask that they be spaced-out better next year.
I mean, four days recovery time between gigs just isn't enough...!
And meself and the two lads have been busy - we are putting together a 12-piece post for Wednesday, 6th December 2023, mentioning happenstances ("Ya wha', Shar...?!) in connection with Irish history and politics that took place between 1919 and 2002, including...
......what one high-ranking British military and political member of the British 'Establishment' wrote, in the 1920's, about what he considered to be a 'sell out' to the Irish...
...how, in the 1950's, the GAA in New York came together and organised itself in connection with events to organise funds for the Republican Movement in Ireland...
...the birth of a journalistic 'Con' artist and his alleged encounter with a committed Irish republican on a city street...
...from 2002 - "..the institutional Church has suffered a serious decline in confidence.." - but such a "serious decline" is not a death knell...
...and a few more articles mentioning events that took place between 1919 and 1925.
So please do check back with us on Wednesday, 6th December 2023 : and sure we might even tell ya a bit more about the two gigs we attended.
Or we might not...!
Thanks for the visit, and for reading : hope to see ya on the 6th!
