ROADS AND FULL STOPS...

1920's - a commercial trader horse-drawn convoy ('supply train') of over one dozen carts, carrying several tons of different foodstuffs, was making its way from one country town to another.

Trucks couldn't carry the load because the IRA had closed roads, and trains were of no use because train tracks had been disabled ; but horse and carts could transport the goods, on and off road.

Thanks for the visit - give us a shout back on Wednesday, 16th September, 2026, and ya can read all about it...if we're not closed down before then...!
